Kaizer Chiefs coach Baxter: I'm patient with Mthembu following Soweto Derby win against Orlando Pirates

Kaizer Chiefs coach Stuart Baxter said Siphelele Mthembu's patience will pay off after the striker broke his duck at the club against Orlando Pirates on the weekend.

Mthembu scored the second goal as Chiefs beat their fierce rivals 2-0 to extend their unbeaten run and lead at the Absa Premiership summit.

Baxter said Mthembu has been patient and explained what he said to him before he came on to replace Kingston Nkhatha in the 89th minute.

“Siphelele has been waiting patiently, he has showed in training much more than he has able to show in games,” Baxter said.

“I have been really patient with him and I tried to take off pressure and he had a simple... simple instruction and that was keep going behind them... keep going behind them, you will get on the end of something for us.

“Don't risk the ball too much, just keep on going behind them and you cause problems. And he did exactly what we ask him to do and I was pleased that he could score that goal.

“Good professional footballers are not easy to come by, he is a good professional. He works his socks every day.

“And so if there was someone I wanted to see scoring a goal, it was him.”

So what's your instruction to Nkhatha my coach? Maybe you should tell Kingston the same thing coz your instruction seems to bear results. Thanks for'turning our team into a formidable beast.

I am still not convinced by Shaka Zulu, he could have missed that ball had he manage to do want he wanted to do witch was hitting the ball with his right foot, it was thank god he missed it with a right foot and hit the standing foot into the net.. but am happy he finally do what his paid to do which is scoring goals and contribute to the team success.

It seems that Stuart Baxter says something different to Kingston Nkhata, opposite of what he said to Siphelele Mthembu. Could he please say to Nkhatha the same he said to Mthembu!

According to coach Mthembu is the leading goal scorer at the practice grounds just like Ndumiso Mabhena used to be at rats. But he fails to take that to the match & we cant be patient forever with.
