PSL Absa Premiership match report: Mamelodi Sundowns 3-1 SuperSport United

Posted: 3 December 2014 Time: 21:48

Goals from Khama Billiat, Themba Zwane and Teko Modise helped Mamelodi Sundowns to a 3-1 Absa Premiership win over SuperSport United on Wednesday evening.

SuperSport opened the scoring through Dove Wome, but Downs fought back to secure all there points against Matsatsantsa, who had Thuso Phala sent off just before the hour-mark.
Wome continued the trend of Sundowns players scoring against their parent club, with the on-loan SuperSport midfielder following in the footsteps of Eleazar Rodgers and Thamsanqa Sangweni.
The Togo international ran onto a through-ball from Thuso Phala before rounding Kennedy Mweene and finishing with aplomb in the 17th minute, 1-0.
Wome almost grabbed his brace three minutes later. Mweene spilled Sibusiso Khumalo’s shot from range into the path of the midfielder, who failed to put away the rebound as the goalkeeper made the block.
The Brazilians pulled level through Billiat in the 32nd minute. Cuthbert Malajila put enough pressure on at the near post to deflect Hlompho Kekana's cross into the path of the unmarked Zimbabwe international, who made no mistake from close range.
Pitso Mosimane’s men continued to bombard the Matsatsantsa goal and took the lead through Themba Zwane on the stroke of half-time. Malajila's header forced Ronwen Williams into a superb save, before Zwane found the back of the net on the rebound, 2-1 at the break.
SuperSport were dealt a further blow in the 59th minute after Phala received his marching orders for lashing out at Billiat.
Modise wrapped things up for the hosts in the 74th minute. His first-time effort from the edge of the area took a wicked deflection, which completely wrong-footed Williams who just stood and watched the ball bulge the back of the net.
The win moves Sundowns up to fifth place on the Absa Premiership standings, while SuperSport drop to 11th.

A secret about Sundowns: When Sundowns bench all jump in celebration and join in when a goal is scored, instead of gentle claps and murmuring, it means enemies beware!!!, be worried!!!, Sundowns is its own enemy, when they conquer their internal demons, no team can stop them.

Jabu King metalwolf We were not exposed for lack of pace in that game, our defensive line was to high up, Pitso won't make that tactical mistake again

Double Action 6 ✌ Chief Tsonga ✌ Like I said, inconsistency is the biggest problem, Downs have beeb both victims and beneficiary of dubious decisions, same goes for Chiefs

khosi lami He gave a penalty to Maritzburg United vs Sundowns on the 86th minute, when there was no penalty, not to mention the penalty he didn't give for Sundowns, Gomes is coming for all of you!!!

sir pitso i disagree with you, as a wing back you can't run forward and left the ball behind, all our goals cums from the left back becos the opponent always caught us off position, look at mphahlele he goes with the ball dats y he can be back on tym its rear to caught him off position

@kgosimang I was having a conversation with @coffart I'm talking about langerman, I'm not sure exactly what is it that you are disagreeing with.

well done sandawana but still not convinced with Nthete and mweene they r the weakest link, kennedy always took the wrong decisions and it cost a team the goals against ss, pirates and chiefs

@kgosimang goals come from anywhere on the field. Lebese scored from the right. We scored two goals from the right side Ku ssu. But it doesn't mean our goals will come from that side forever.

Nothing wrong with Ntethe @ the moment. He overlapped more than rama did. He made superb crosses and job last night. Proof of that khumalo got booked for trying to stop a defender like Ntethe. Haikabi. Against chiefs he played well and took good care of nkatha, just that ureff bekasphuza lelalanga.kby

Its our style of play we call it shoeshine and piano we won the leaque 6 times with it 4-3-3 . Teko is playing behind Malatjila with Billiat and Zwane wide. KBY

Muzi is a natural left winger too. That's why he plays well along schut . Because schut covers for him and what he does is attack no stop. Punch is the only natural defender. Muzi and langerman were wingers before. But I must say our wingers are letting us down. They now can't run with the ball some of them. Like pelembe and ejike, cheese is not fit so I can't judge him.kby
