Twala strike takes Chippa fourth

Chippa United moved up to fourth place on the Absa Premiership log after a 1-0 victory over Free State Stars on Wednesday evening.
Williams Twala's goal two minutes after half-time was enough to take the Chilli Boys above Orlando Pirates, who could only draw 0-0 with University of Pretoria.
The result is Free State Stars' seventh Absa Premiership defeat of the season and sees them second from bottom on the standings on 11 points.
Chippa manage to earn the victory despite an injury to Bafana Bafana striker David Zulu while Stars had Robert Sankara sent off in the second half for two bookable offences.
The home team started the better of the two sides and had their first shot on goal in the 12th minute when Thamsanqa Sangweni let fly from long range, but his effort sailed narrowly over the crossbar.
In the 18th minute Zulu sustained what appeared to be an ankle sprain after landing awkwardly – which could see him miss Bafana’s game against Ivory coast on Sunday – and he was replaced by Lucky Khune.
Still, despite losing their top striker, Chippa pushed forward through Twala who saw his low shot from 30 yards out turned round the corner by Stars goalkeeper Ayanda Mtshali in the 36th minute.
Chippa were quick out of the blocks after the break and took the lead two minutes after the restart when Twala turned home Andile Mbenyane's cutback from the right with a slightly deflected finish from just inside the box, 1-0.
Stars tried to find their way back into the game and came close in the 73rd minute, but Moeketsi Sekola saw his stinging effort well saved by Mbongeni Mzimela.
The visiting side’s chances of a comeback were made all the more difficult when they were reduced to 10 men following the dismissal of Robert Sankara in the 76th minute.
