SuperSport United’s Michael Morton believes his side will lift the Telkom Knockout trophy

Posted: 24 November 2014 Time: 21:03

SuperSport United midfielder Michael Morton believes his side has what it to takes to topple Platinum Stars and win the Telkom Knockout Final.

SuperSport reached the Final after beating Orlando Pirates 2-0 in the semi-final, while Dikwena knocked out Mamelodi Sundowns 1-0 in their match-up.

The Final will be played on Saturday, 29 November, with the team given the entire week to prepare for the encounter, with no PSL midweek fixtures scheduled for Matsatsantsa this week.

“I can’t see any reason why we can’t win the Final,” the player tells KickOff.com.

“But I do know that Platinum Stars is a great and extremely difficult team to beat. In the semi-final they were compact and Sundowns couldn’t break them down.

“I’m sure they will definitely be the same come the Final, but I don’t see any reason why we can’t win.”

Morton joined SuperSport after spending three seasons with Maritzburg United, and the player admits that things were difficult at the beginning, and only changed recently after Igesund’s arrival.

“Things didn’t go as I expected them to go, we were inconsistent but after Igesund arrived we hit a good run of form,” he says.

“I hope we will win continue and we can this Final. If I can win a trophy in my first season here it will be fantastic and I can’t see any reason why we can’t win it.”

Your team was all over the media last week ahead of the game against Pirates and you lost. Your coach had a million excuses and now you're repeating the same mistake. Dikwena aren't defending champs for nothing, you're in for a real fight Saturday.

Name calling, cool.....1. He's every where in the field. 2. He's a good tackler. 3. He's a hard worker. That what you said.

Can you now tell me why he is a cow?
