SuperSport United and Platinum Stars players excused from Bafana Bafana

Posted: 20 November 2014 Time: 17:47

Bafana Bafana are set to be minus the services of Sbusiso Khumalo, Luvolwethu Mpeta and Siyabonga Mpontshane when they take on Ivory Coast in an international friendly match set for Mbomela Stadium on November 30.

The trio, who were part of Bafana Bafana's recent Afcon qualifying matches against both Sudan and Nigeria, are set to be involved in the Telkom Knockout Cup final featuring Supersport United and Platinum Stars on November 29 at the Orlando Stadium.

United coach Gordon Igesund has confirmed that players from both Matsatsantsa and Dikwena are set to be excused from national team fixture next weekend.

"An agreement has been reached that players from both SuperSport and Platinum Stars are not going to be part of the national team, because we are playing the Final on November 30," said Igesund.

Why was Erasmus replaced even before halftime last night? Did he fail dismally to impress against the Nigerians?

M surprised that people are saying Khumalo has improved lately. Has he ever been a bad or worse player? Khumalo has always been gud before joining the Moneylody Signdowns. He was not utilised at Moneylody Signdowns not because he was not good but just because the team is just confused. How do u justify the benching of Dove Wome? They prefer Langerman ahead of Masenamela and Mashaba. They rather play Teko or Zungu as holding midfielders than Sangweni. They went on to register Ntuli in the league and leave out Mushekwi; Manqele and Nyatama. According to them, Siyanda Zwane is a far much better option than Bryce Moon.
