Goodman Dlamini wins AmaZulu player of the month award for October

Posted: 8 November 2014 Time: 15:53

Midfielder Goodman 'Deco' Dlamini has been named AmaZulu's player of the month for October.

Usuthu caretaker boss Wilfred Mugeyi said Dlamini was a worthy recipient of the award in a trying time for the team.

“Deco deserves it for this month but as a team there is a lot of work that has to be done to get back up on a reasonable log position,” Mugeyi told the club's website.

Dlamini was rewarded with R2000 and a night’s stay for two at Suncoast Hotel Towers.

The 26-year-old expressed gratitude and took the opportunity to urge the side's fans to keep showing their support.

“As a player this adds to one’s confidence but we’re all concerned as a team on how things have gone in the League," Dlamini said.

“We also appeal to our supporters not to lose their patience with us because we’re working hard to turn the situation around and we need them to stand behind us.”

The Durban-based outfit, who lost 2-1 to leaders Kaizer Chiefs in midweek, are propping up the Absa Premiership standings with four points from 10 matches.

That's why I always say, most people don't know soccer. They just know chiefs and pirates, and sundown sometimes. All yA comments sound like they from some ladies in a stockvel.

Amazulu are playing good football, especially in that game on Wednesday. I Wish them a win on their next game.
