Orlando Pirates assitant coach Tinkler: Nyauza deserves Bafana shot

Posted: 7 November 2014 Time: 14:11

Orlando Pirates assistant coach Eric Tinkler feels Ntsikelelo Nyauza's call-up to the national team was well deserved given his performances for the Buccaneers.

The fullback - who has been trading game-time in Mayfair with Happy Jele - has been included in Shakes Mashaba's Bafana Bafana squad for the final Afcon qualifiers against Sudan and Nigeria on November 15 and 19.

“Ntsiki deserves to be in the national team, he did very well for us and has been rewarded,” Tinkler told his club's official website.

“Happy Jele is a very good, experienced player but after having a bad game, we tried Nyauza and he has done well so far.

“He is a young man who can still grow in the game, but the technical team is really proud of him.

“In training and in the games he played he showed maturity so, he has full backing of the entire team,” concluded the former Bafana midfielder.

Nyauza, 24, has made six starts and three substitute outings for Bucs in all competitions this season. The ex-Platinum Stars man joined the Sea Robbers in January.

Mashaba has seen something on Nyauza that many people have not seen. I must say that I was one of those who doubted him, but I've noticed that he's really working hard, and is improving in each and every game he plays.

I hope VV will move Happy Jele permanent to the centre half position, and leave Nyauza to fight with Matlaba in the right back position. I hope he won't temper with Phungwayo on the left. Because the guy really does not deserve to sit on the bench.

Most if not all coaches select players who they believe in, so it would be careless to call a player who might not be a valuable asset: we may not select Nyauza but unfortunately we are not the Head Coach/es of Bafana Bafana, so we can support those who are fortunate and stop bringing down our brothers.

The guy is good and he can be better if given enough chance.

Dooba #bringbackdeathpenalty Sbu Webhakabhaka  Matlaba plays on the left but he is right footed.  He uses his left foot well if take a close look you will notice that his long range passes from his right foot are ,ore accurate than those from his left foot.

Only Mashaba and his Da Gama can explain the inclusion of this guy in the national team.

I have seen better right backs in our country...But hey I do not live in Corner Mediocrity Street and Mashaba Avenue...There is no such streets or avenue in Fourways.
