Pitso Mosimane questions selection of Man of the Match

Posted: 6 November 2014 Time: 11:14

Mamelodi Sundowns coach Pitso Mosimane criticised the selection criteria for the Absa Man of the Match award in their game against Mpumalanga Black Aces.

Aces defender S'boniso Gumede was selected as Man of the Match after a 0-0 draw at Lucas Moripe Stadium last night, a decision Mosimane did not agree with.

'Jingles' believes Gumede did not do enough to win the award.

"I am surprised about the Man of the Match. Guys, who chooses [the Man of the Match]?. He was all over the place first half, one way and going that way, and then man of the match," remarked Mosimane.

"Which goal did he save off the line? Who did he mark?. I am not criticising the boy, the boy is a good player, but the selection of the man of the match leaves a lot to be desired," added Jingles.

It is this website's understanding that the broadcasters of the game select the Man of the Match recipient.
