Platinum Stars working on a new contract for Mpeta amid interest from Mamelodi Sundowns

Posted: 5 November 2014 Time: 09:22

Platinum Stars are working around the clock to keep Mamelodi Sundowns-target Luvolwethu Mpeta.

KickOff.com revealed last month that Sundowns have set their sights on signing the Bafana Bafana newcomer in the January transfer window.

But Dikwena on Monday moved a step closer to thrashing out a new contract for the fullback, according to a senior offical at the club.

Mpeta's existing deal expires in June.

"Mpeta's contractual renewal is at an advanced stage after meeting him on Monday," says the source, who adds that fellow in-demand defender Rofhiwa Tshikovhi is staying put.

"Tshikovhi is safe on a three-year, plus two-year option."

Kaizer Chiefs, Orlando Pirates and SuperSport United have been linked with a move for Tshikovhi.
