Platinum Stars coach Allan Freese is delighted that two of his players in Luvolwethu Mpeta and Siyabonga Mpontshane have been named in the Bafana Bafana squad to play Sudan and Nigeria.
Freese admits that Mpontshane, who played all 40 League and cup games last season, didn’t have the best of starts this term but he has now recovered to reclaim the number one jersey from Kabelo Dambe.
“I was very happy with the way Mpontshane played against Chiefs [in the Telkom Knockout] and as for Mpeta, he’s been consistent for us so I’m very happy for the two players because they deserve the call ups,” he tells KickOff.com.
Out of the 40 games ‘Dikwena’ played last season, Mpeta started 32 and as for this season, he has been ever present having started all 14 League and cup games so far.
