Andile Fikizolo happy to wait for SuperSport United chance

Posted: 2 November 2014 Time: 16:36

SuperSport United Andile Fikizolo has lauded the MultiChoice Diski Challenge as a great initiative for fringe players to gain confidence.

The 20-year-old has not played much for the first team since joining on a three-year deal from Thanda Royal Zulu at the start of the season.

Fikizolo has scored two goals in the Diski Challenge to help SuperSport into the quarterfinals after finishing second in Group B.

He says the initiative really helps players in terms of confidence.

“For me, personally, it brings back confidence,” he says. "I talk to people like Thuso Phala, [Lebogang] Manyama and [Bennett] Chenene and, if they continue playing as good as this, I'm happy if the team to see them playing.

“I'm waiting for my own chance, and the Diski Challenge gives me a opportunity and if my chance comes, I'm ready."

Fikizolo says every player is working extra hard to impress Gordon Igesund, who has turned the club’s fortunes around since replacing Cavin Johnson.

"He is a good coach and a coach who has a wealth of experience. He has trust in me and he applauds me for what I'm doing. What makes me even happier is that when the first team doesn’t play, he always comes to watch us.

“He encourages us to hold our heads high and keep working hard. He he always tells us that it is not easy to change a winning team and you can't fix a car if there is nothing wrong in it.

“He really trusts me, so we take it from there and we are waiting for our own chances and, if it comes, we will use it.”

one fluke goal against bucs and Supersport united flopped by signing this cow, now they don't know what to do with it. Igesende won't give this cow a chance in his team cause we all know younger trying players are not his thing and especially cows like this one. He's in for a very rough ride at united and out on loan in January. Cow! Once and always bucs.

This is a young man they call 'çarrot'.  Very humble, but was surprised when he claimed he will destroy the mighty Bucs.  Very talented if he can get grounded.
