Kudakwashe Mahachi on PSL defenders

Posted: 30 October 2014 Time: 11:04

Mamelodi Sundowns winger Kudakwashe Mahachi believes settling into the Premier Soccer League won’t be tough because the defenders here ‘are too slow’.

The Zimbabwean international joined the Brazilians at the start of the season, but is yet to really win coach Pitso Mosimane over, having made five appearances, but only one of them from the start.

But the 21-year-old feels it’s only a matter of time before he settles down and lives up to the huge expectations.

Is Mahachi in your KICK OFF Fantasy League team? Remember, Gameweek 10 kicks off this weekend and lots of great weekly, monthly and quarterly prizes are up for offer. If you haven’t yet, join the fun for free now!

“This is my first year in the PSL; I need to adjust and work hard to get into the team on a regular basis,” Mahachi says in the latest edition of KICK OFF magazine.

“But I don’t think settling into this League will be difficult. PSL defenders are good, but they are too slow. The pace here is not as fast as in Zimbabwe.

“In Zimbabwe the defenders are fast and also kick. Here football is more tactical.”

Mahachi will have a chance to run at some of the ‘slow’ PSL defenders when Sundowns host Free State Stars in the Absa Premiership on Saturday.

In the latest edition of KICK OFF (issue 451), Mahachi also talks of how Radamel Falcao guided him at Monaco, his respect for ‘Mr Esrom’, and how Prophet Chiza told him he would soon play in Europe.

NX go back to your Banana Republic and play there with the fast defenders. You have a nerve wena san, to come into our country, our league and start disrespecting us. Nobody forced you to come and play here. #bloody agent

This headline is misleading: “In Zimbabwe the defenders are fast and also kick. Here football is more tactical.” all he is saying is that it is easier to play here than in Zimbabwe.

Jobe@ kc Ndodemnyama #1 Meyiwa Yes, its true, PSL is more tactical rigid hence "talented" township players don't make it, because they can't play to structured tactics but rely more on gut/instinct
