Mzwakali 'shocked' by Ajax Cape Town return

Posted: 22 October 2014 Time: 11:18

Ajax Cape Town midfielder Bantu Mzwakali admits he is surprised to be back in the thick of things after a spell out through injury.

The 20-year-old missed Ajax’s first six encounters of the season due to a groin problem but he is slowly regaining full fitness.

---------------------------------------------------------------------------------

Speaking on the back of an impressive display against Kaizer Chiefs at the weekend, Mzwakali said: “For me, first of all I haven’t been getting game-time, so when the coach told me I was going to start against Aces (Mpumalanga Black Aces) in the Telkom Knockout I was shocked.

“I didn’t think I would start so soon but that is part of the game.

“I am happy with how I have done since then but I can still feel that fitness wise, I am not there yet and so I still struggle with certain things during the game.

“But all I need to do is to keep pushing and keep working hard than I will come right.”

Mzwakali will be hoping to make his third Absa Premiership appearance tonight when Ajax takes on Platinum Stars at Cape Town Stadium.

Useful player for Ajax. Dont rush to come to joburg, it does not work out for most players here. Give Ajax two or three good seasons, then you can think about the move.
