Best & Worst of the Weekend

It was an enthralling weekend of PSL action as Kaizer Chiefs maintained their winning run, while AmaZulu and Polokwane City once again failed to register a victory.
Goal of the Weekend: Daine Klate scored the decisive goal in Orlando Pirates’ win against Free State Stars with a first-time volley, but the best goal came from Moroka Swallows’ Vuyisile Wana, whose 25-yard thunderbolt into the top corner was not enough to prevent defeat to Black Aces.
Player of the Weekend: The result of the weekend was Bloemfontein Celtic’s 5-1 thrashing of Polokwane City, and the man pulling the strings was Musa Nyatama. The former Mamelodi Sundowns midfielder got two assists and was at the heart of everything good for the Free Staters.
A weekend to forget for: University of Pretoria defender Grant Kekana had a Saturday to forget, scoring an own-goal before conceding a penalty which was duly slotted by Clayton Daniels in the 3-0 defeat to SuperSport United. Oh, he also got booked …
Words of the Weekend: “It's not as though Orlando Pirates aren't a big team. Pissed. Angry. Very close to scoring. Maybe ball behind the line!" – Free State Stars coach Tom Saintfiet had a few things to complain about after their defeat to Pirates.
