Best & Worst of the Weekend

Posted: 20 October 2014 Time: 11:17

It was an enthralling weekend of PSL action as Kaizer Chiefs maintained their winning run, while AmaZulu and Polokwane City once again failed to register a victory.

Goal of the Weekend: Daine Klate scored the decisive goal in Orlando Pirates’ win against Free State Stars with a first-time volley, but the best goal came from Moroka Swallows’ Vuyisile Wana, whose 25-yard thunderbolt into the top corner was not enough to prevent defeat to Black Aces.

Player of the Weekend: The result of the weekend was Bloemfontein Celtic’s 5-1 thrashing of Polokwane City, and the man pulling the strings was Musa Nyatama. The former Mamelodi Sundowns midfielder got two assists and was at the heart of everything good for the Free Staters.

Moment of the Weekend: It can only be Kaizer Chiefs’ win an Ajax Cape Town which saw them record a 15th successive Absa Premiership victory. The Urban Warriors, for long Chiefs’ bogey side, were expected to trip Soweto giants up, but Tefu Mashamaite’s goal proved the difference on the day.

A weekend to forget for: University of Pretoria defender Grant Kekana had a Saturday to forget, scoring an own-goal before conceding a penalty which was duly slotted by Clayton Daniels in the 3-0 defeat to SuperSport United. Oh, he also got booked …

Words of the Weekend: “It's not as though Orlando Pirates aren't a big team. Pissed. Angry. Very close to scoring. Maybe ball behind the line!" – Free State Stars coach Tom Saintfiet had a few things to complain about after their defeat to Pirates.

Goal of the weekend from Klate but the beat goal from Wana? Am I the one not understanding the Queen's language?

TollybaThathe

it is the queen's language indeed.

they are mentioning Klate's goal, meaning it was also good but Wana's goal was the best.

Holla Veli, but why mention it as if you owe us explanation why you did not opt for same? It's point less for me to mention same as you know very well which one between the two you rate highly. Anyway, thanks Ma se kind.

bhakaniya, Klate's goal deserves to be mentioned it was taken from the top drawer but then there was another goal which was better than this one...mentioning it is a sign of recognition.

You've got a short memory, neh? You were hiding when Morgan Goat smashed Bekele's nose with a upper cut and nothing was mentioned nor done about same, was there?
