Gavin Hunt says Vincent Pule must learn from Daine Klate

Posted: 8 October 2014 Time: 13:51

Bidvest Wits coach Gavin Hunt has advised 22-year-old midfielder Vincent Pule to watch and learn from Orlando Pirates campaigner Daine Klate.

Pule joined Wits at the beginning of the season from First Division side African Warriors and, since his arrival, has already scored two goals in four starts at his new club.

Hunt spoke of the well-taken team goal, which Pule finished off, in the Telkom Knockout Last 16 fixture against Moroka Swallows on Friday night, and praised the left-winger for his display in the match.

“I’ve been in the PSL for over 30 years, and that was the best goal I’ve seen, unbelievable goal,” said Hunt.

“Not the goal itself, but the build-up and where we got out from; over twenty-odd passes, magnificent,” he added.

Pule put in a convincing performance against the Birds, and Hunt says the speedy winger could learn a thing or two from Klate.

“I’ve said to him, you know … there’s only one player he’s gotta watch – watch Daine Klate,” said the former SuperSport United coach.

Hunt coached Klate during his time at SuperSport, and the five-time Absa Premiership-winning midfielder was part of his team that won three consecutive League titles from 2007/08 to 2009/10.

“Watch Daine Klate play, like I had Daine Klate for six years. If he [Pule] can become like that, then he’ll be fantastic because he can score and he’s got a good left foot,” adds Hunt.

Ok son, you can watch Pule like your grand dad Hunt said.
Then when you get into the pitch, you do better than Klaite ne, sonny.
We want a good left winger for Bafana, Klaite couldnt give us that.

I think Hunt meant to say Pule should watch videos of Klate while at Supersport and not this Klate of Orlando Pirates

This young man can play and his fast as well, klate nowadays plays but not like before. But everyone knows that he's a player that you can put your hopes on. I'll go with hunt as his one of the most respected coaches that we have in Mzansi.

U scored from a counter attack and that was brilliant but how about that shongwe goal?........ Yerrrrrrrr that was a cracker as well.

Cook them hunt, we want competition in PSL and i mean a real one...........Entlek i salute you and DE SA by bring that rythm to your teams.......

Truth need to be told......"without a tense" i remain humble for my forum mates to analyse where i left.

This Klate at The Happy People plays like a head-less chicken and his blunders cost the team big-time. Like Myeni, they get selected due to favoritism by VV, they aren't the best at all. However as a Mighty, I say Shapa the Sea Robbers shapaaa! ! !

so in other words hunt is Advising Pule not to be a Bafana Material??? pule my advise is be yourself and be a player of your own, don't emulate a player who was never even linked to a move to Zimbabwe, let alone being invited for trial with the reserve team
