Mamelodi Sundowns winger Kudakwashe Mahachi wants 3 points

Posted: 27 September 2014 Time: 08:47

Mamelodi Sundowns winger Kudakwashe Mahachi believes that the defending League champions need three points against Polokwane City to keep their momentum going.

Sundowns travel to Polokwane City on Sunday, kick-off is at 15h00.

Pitso Mosimane’s side had a rocky start to the season and have already lost two matches – 1-0 away to Ajax Cape Town and 3-0 at home against Orlando Pirates – in just six matches.

The Brazilians also drew their first home game of the season 1-1 to Maritzburg United and that didn’t go down well with supporters.

This weekend they are taking on Polokwane City, a team they lost 1-0 to in last season’s corresponding fixture and the Zimbabwean international Mahachi says the Brazilians will need three points.

“We had a difficult start to the season but fortunately for us it’s still early in the season and we have enough time to bounce back,” Mahachi tells KickOff.com.

“After we lost against Orlando Pirates we told ourselves that we need to regroup and bounce back against Bloemfontein Celtic and we did that by winning 1-0. And now we have a chance of getting two wins in a row and I believe with the players we have we can achieve that.

“If we can get two wins in a row, I’m sure that will boost the morale,” he adds.

After joining Sundowns during the January transfer window, Mahachi spent the remainder of last season on-loan at Highlanders in Zimbabwe.

The 20-year-old made his debut against Moroka Swallows netting the winner after coming on as a second half substitute. Since then, he was rewarded for his good form and included in the starting line-up in the 2-0 over AmaZulu.

“I only started one match so far and I think I need to work hard because this is a team of quality players,” Mahachi says.

“The coach [Pitso Mosimane] has been very helpful because he told me what I need to do to improve. But I will get better with time but the most important thing is to help Sundowns defend the League title,” he adds.

I disagree clown. In football emotions don't overrule, Chiefs rule

remember Pirates 0 - 1 Chiefs

Or Sundowns 0 - 3 Pirates
