Maritzburg United minus De Jongh, Mekoa for Kaizer Chiefs Absa Premiership clash

Posted: 20 September 2014 Time: 16:26

Maritzburg United will be minus injured pair Ryan de Jongh and Deolin Mekoa when they face Absa Premiership leaders Kaizer Chiefs at Soccer City on 27 September.

United revealed the news on their official website, with club general manager Quintin Jettoo going on to express confidence his side can upset the MTN8 finalists.

“We always go into the games against the big teams like Chiefs as underdogs,” Jettoo said.

“But we have shown in the past that we can get results against the big sides, and so we will be out to upset the apple cart again.

“For us, it’s important that the players do not get overawed by the occasion. We must treat it as just another game. It’s a league match, and three points are up for grabs.”

The Team of Choice are sixth on the table with nine points from six games - nine points behind Amakhosi.
