Ejike Uzoenyi: Nigeria will beat Bafana

Posted: 3 September 2014 Time: 15:28

Mamelodi Sundowns forward Ejike Uzoenyi believes Nigeria will beat Bafana Bafana when the two countries meet next Wednesday.

South Africa take on the Nigeria Super Eagles in Group A of the 2015 African Nations Cup qualifiers on September 10 in Cape Town. Bafana open their campaign away in Sudan on Friday while Nigeria host Congo.

Uzoenyi was part of the Nigeria squad at the 2014 World Cup in Brazil but was recently left out of the Afcon qualifiers as he spent a month trying to get his South African work permit.

South Africa have never beaten Nigeria in an official match and the Sundowns player tells KickOff.com that is not about to change.

“Nigeria is the best team in Africa and they are coming to South Africa to beat Bafana Bafana,” Uzoenyi insists.

“We are the best and you can’t take that away from us, we are the best in Africa. We have unbelievable players who can do crazy things with the ball.

“As a Nigerian I wish my country to win, but I also wish South Africa all the best.”

“Nigeria is the best team in Africa and they are coming to South Africa to beat Bafana Bafana,”.. Sounds like a fan saying it, not a professional player.

Most African players need lessons on how to be professional... Answer questions without disrespecting/undermining the opponent regardless how weak you think they are just for control.

At Downs you will upgrade from Nokia to I-Phone, from skull candy to Beats By Dre, from afro to Mohawk, from Tazz to Jeep. From Adidas to Nike. From Lanco to Movado watch, from plastic cup to league champ...Ejike will soon be a fully fledged mfana wa style!

Yes they are the current African Champions so they are the best. On coming here and beating Bafana that is his opinion and he is entitled to it.

KING?  Ibhola Lethu We do agree, but then for control in football, players keep it in and covers it with "They are a good side, we respect them but we'll go there for 3 win"...

Just for control... LOL
