AmaZulu striker Ayanda Dlamini says he is happy to be back and itching to fight his way back into Usuthu’s strike-force.
‘Cobra’ is raring to make his debut this season after being sidelined with a knee injury sustained during pre-season, and could be back for this afternoon’s clash against Mamelodi Sundowns.
“It feels good to be back after seeing no action for some time due to injury,” he tells KickOff.com. “I have fully recovered now and ready for action.”
AmaZulu management made it clear to coach Craig Rosslee and his technical team a few weeks ago that the team’s target for the 2014/15 season is a top-four finish and a cup glory.
“I think that target is realistic considering the signings were made during pre-season. And as a senior player I can hang up my boots a happy man having won a silverware with Usuthu.”
Usuthu’s last top-four finish last happened back in then NSL First Division-Castle League (now Absa Premiership) in 1993, finishing third behind runners-up Moroka Swallows and champions Mamelodi Sundowns, while cup glory was last achieved in 1992 when they stunned Kaizer Chiefs 3-1 in the inaugural Coca-Cola Cup Final (now Telkom Knockout).
