Mphela, Nkosi, Mngadi injury blow for Kaizer Chiefs

Posted: 26 August 2014 Time: 20:14

Kaizer Chiefs striker Katlego Mphela is set to have an operation after breaking a bone in his foot, while midfielder Siyabonga Nkosi also faces a spell on the sidelines.

It's a tough break for Mphela, who scored off the bench in the 3-0 victory over Platinum Stars in the MTN8 semi-finals on Sunday.

Meanwhile, Nkosi has hurt his hip flexor muscle and will be out for "10 to 14 days", according to a post on Chiefs' Twitter feed.

In another setback for Amakhosi, midfielder Phakamani Mngadi is also sidelined with a cut on his foot.

However, fellow new signing Ovidy Karuru is available after the Zimbabwean received his work permit.

The Glamour Boys next face Dikwena in the Absa Premiership on Wednesday.
