Bafana Bafana will be among the seeds for next year’s Confederations Cup and will play in the opening match of the two-week tournament at Coca Cola Park in Johannesburg on June 14.
According to Fifa, World Cup holders Italy and continental champions Brazil, Egypt, Iraq, New Zealand, Spain and the United States will also be in the tournament draw on November 22.
The challengers for a title held by Brazil will be split into two pools with nations from the same confederation separated, meaning Egypt go into Group B, and Italy and Spain are kept apart.
Bafana are seeded in Group A.
