Maritzburg United newcomer Mohau Mokate has respect for Chippa United but thinks their defence might lack mobility, with the clubs set to collide tonight in the Absa Premiership.
The Team of Choice will host the promoted Chilli Boys at Harry Gwala Stadium, with kick-off at 19h30.
“Chippa will be difficult to beat,” Mokate, who is suspended for the tie, told his side's official website.
“I have watched them this season and they play quick, attacking football, although their defence is not very fast. We must try and keep the ball as much as we can and be strong on our transitions when going forward.”
Meanwhile, Mokate, who scored but got dismissed in the 2-1 win at Polokwane City, is enjoying his first taste of topflight football. The 23-year-old played for third-tier outfit Orbit FC last season before passing a trial under Steve Komphela.
“My agent told me about the trials that Maritzburg were having, so we came down, and fortunately it went well and I was given the chance to sign for the team,” he explained.
“I’m happy that God has given me this opportunity. I’m grateful to be playing in the PSL and that I was able to score a goal for the team
“I have always wanted to get into the PSL, and it's through hard work that I have achieved this. I’m the first person from my town (Koster) to play in the PSL. They are very proud of me back home and I will work as hard as I can to keep on improving.”
