David Thidiela ready to sell Edgar Manaka

Posted: 25 August 2014 Time: 14:18

Black Leopards boss David Thidiela says he is prepared to sell in-demand midfielder Edgar Manaka, providing their asking price is met.

Orlando Pirates looked odds-on favourites to sign the player – who made no secret of his desire to join the Buccaneers – until Bidvest Wits entered the race.

Thidiela was not prepared to confirm the price-tag on the Manaka’s head, though KickOff.com has learnt it’s in the region of R3-million.

And, should this be met before the transfer window closes at the end of the week, Manaka is free to leave Leopards.

“I am ready to release the player, but provided they [the interested parties] pay up,” Thidiela tells KickOff.com

Manaka’s contract expires in June next year, and Leopards stand to lose the player for free if nothing materializes this week.

If you do not sell the player while you still can, you run the risk of being another Sukazi and sue a player when he becomes a free agent or has a year to run in his contract. At that stage players do not listen.

Please Mr Thidiela, people can see that you are trying to market the player and get a fat cheque by mentioning Bucs... that's low!!
