PSL Moroka Swallows Mamelodi Sundowns

Posted: 20 August 2014 Time: 19:10

Kudakwashe Mahachi scored on debut as Mamelodi Sundowns picked up their first three points of the season following a 2-0 victory over Moroka Swallow.

Mame Niang opened the scoring in the 53rd minute before Swallows had Lantshene Phalane sent off with 11 minutes to go. Downs substitute Mahachi made the points safe seven minutes from time.

The Brazilians controlled proceedings throughout and deservedly scooped all three points thanks to two well taken goals.
Niang opened the scoring in the 53rd minute following a swift move down the right flank as Ramahlwe Mphahlele squared to the striker, who took a deft touch to take the ball around Greg Etafia before slotting home from a tight angle.
Mahachi doubled their lead seven minutes from time with his first goal for the club on debut. Teko Modise was played in behind the defence, he drew the keeper and squared to Elias Pelembe at the far post, who knocked it back across goal for Mahachi to round off a sweeping counter-attack with a solid left-footed finish.

The win moves Sundowns up to sixth place on the Absa Premiership log while Moroka Swallows slide down to fifth following their first defeat of the campaign.

Javelin is not our style, that's more chiefs, what does pirats play? Kak football! Running around with no intensions!! Wait till you face Mighty Downs next week you'll tell me. U can't even score goals, now defenders are even scoring for you? Better hope you get a penalty, coz we don't do penalties!

The line up says it all, the manager is still trying and testing. Nevertheless, if results are coming then no problem. Will start analyzing team selection and subs after a reasonable number of games. It looks like in pre-season we didn't do much in terms of consolidating a formations.

ramonenyiwap Sundowns is my team and i know what i'm talking about.

A true downs fan would agree with me that for years and years without any silverware is what i just mentioned & then you start talking about the farting & thanks for the complements i take it it's just a slip of a tongue and you did'nt meant it.

Pity I didn't watch this match as it lacked the spark to make it interesting. You know even when the Beezy Bees fc are playing good but their matches always attract less interest unless they're playing the big teams. Otherwise id like to watch Mahachi and Uzoenyi play to see if how they going to take the PSL given what I've seen of them in their respective national teams.
