PSL Match Report: Black Aces vs Kaizer Chiefs

Posted: 13 August 2014 Time: 20:34

Kaizer Chiefs beat Mpumalanga Black Aces 2-1 in an exciting Absa Premiership encounter at Mbombela Stadium on Wednesday night.

Chiefs opened the scoring through Man of the Match Mandla Masango, who pounced on a defensive error from Aces to give his side the lead.

Aces hit back through a wonder goal by Aubrey Ngoma, whose first-time half-volley will be a contender for Goal of the Season.

But a bullet-finish from Reneilwe Letsholonyane on the stroke of half-time put Chiefs back into the ascendency.

The Amakhosi had the better of the chances in an end-to-end game, with George Maluleka denied on a number of occasions by the irrepressible Edwin Gyimah as well as Energy Murambadoro in the Aces goal.

Malukela also missed a sitter from four yards out when the ball hit his shoulder instead of his head, while Itumeleng Khune was at his best towards the end of the match to preserve his side's lead, keeping out Tendai Ndoro, Collins Mbesuma and Dennis Masina at vital moments.

Thabo who? Who needs a Thabo when you have a Mandla?

I say let's give him time,he is strong in holding the ball, it will work especially in games where we play a fast pace opponent, where our midfielders will be stretched a bit backwards and u have him as a lone stricker who has to keep possession until help arrives to score a goal.

The cry for new signings might have been heard by these boys... Now they have a point to prove. To show us they are not as we weak as the media paints them of chiefs not having depth...

......... 80% Loading Shabba, Parker and the assassin.
