Danleigh Borman signs for Vasco da Gama

Posted: 12 August 2014 Time: 17:32

Vasco da Gama have snapped up former SuperSport United and Mpumalanga Black Aces left-back Danleigh Borman on a season-long deal.

Borman has decided to head back to his hometown in Cape Town after getting no joy in Gauteng since returning from North America, where he played in Major League Soccer for New York Red Bulls and Toronto FC.

The 28-year-old will now be hoping for more regular game-time at Vasco than he managed at SuperSport and Aces.

Kenny Gertse, the general manager at Vasco, confirms the signing of Borman along with another left-footer, Sibusiso Mxoyana, who was once on the books of Orlando Pirates.

Vasco have re-signed Jonathan Armogam and retained Lance Niewenhuis. Promising youth midfielder Tumelo Mopedi has also returned after spending a season at Aces and has been joined by Joseph Lekata.

Vasco already have Johannes Motlhaping, Tshowana Mokonyana and Sibusiso Mokoena in the list of signings they have made this season.
