University of Pretoria wait on Jaure, Nyondo injured

Posted: 4 August 2014 Time: 09:15

University of Pretoria’s latest signing, Partson Jaure, has not linked up with his new teammates for pre-season, while striker Atusaye Nyondo is out with an injury.

AmaTuks coach Steve Barker confirms the absence of the two international players.

“Jaure is still in Zimbabwe where he is working on his paperwork before he joins us. We are hopeful of having him here next week. He will add value to our central defence,” says Barker of the highly-rated defender who shone for Zimbabwe at the African Nations Championship earlier this year.

The 24-year-old Jaure, who signed from Zimbabwean champions Dynamos, is expected to fill the void left by Buhle Mkhwanazi, who has departed for Bidvest Wits.

Meanwhile, Barker says Malawian forward Nyondo has picked up a knock ahead of the new season. It appears to be a serious injury.

“The medical team is assessing him,” says Barker.

Nyondo, who scored seven goals in 23 starts on loan last season, has completed a permanent move from SuperSport United.

Apart from Jaure and Nyondo, AmaTuks have signed Denver Mukamba, Botshelo Mfulwane, Sifiso Ndimande and Vuyisile Ntombayithethi ahead of the new season.
