Goodman Dlamini was in tears after being named AmaZulu's player of the 2013/14 season at a function at Suncoast Casino in Durban on Thursday night.
The 26-year-old was also named the club's most improved player, while he picked up a 'Suncoast Moment of Brilliance' prize, as voted for by fans.
"I'm very happy and it's unexplainable the joy I have at this moment," said Dlamini after receiving his accolades from Usuthu legend Fred Mfeka.
"I was really not aware that I will win three gongs today. It means last season I worked so hard to be where the teams finished and our mandate was to finish in the top, but unfortunately we didn't make it. But all in all I'm very happy to win this prestigious awards."
The offensive midfielder went on to pay tribute to his late father.
"I want to take this opportunity to thank my father who passed away long ago. He was an inspirational figure in my life and also in my football upbringing. He really loved football and wished me luck to be a professional player and play for big clubs and the team he loved most which was AmaZulu. I thanked my colleagues as well but most important, I want to thank my father for everything and I will never forget him ever in my life again."
Usuthu captain Carlington Nyadombo picked up the players' player of the season prize.
He said: "It is the second time now and I'm very happy.
"It shows that I'm doing a great job for the team and I would like to thank my other team-mates for giving me this award and there are the once who voted for me and I'm very grateful."
