Mamelodi Sundowns defender Mabaso loaned to Maritzburg United

Posted: 21 July 2014 Time: 09:06

Mamelodi Sundowns have confirmed defender Abel Mabaso has joined Maritzburg United on a season-long loan.

The 23-year-old will today start training at United.

Mabaso was farmed out to Mpumalanga Black Aces last term after making 23 outings for Sundowns in the previous campaign.

There is fierce competition for the right-back position at Chloorkop, with Ramahlwe Mphahlele, Bryce Moon and new signings Siyanda Zwane and Rheece Evans all hoping to play there.

He's a very good defender and I still feel that he's being used in the wrong position, because this guy is a natural centre half. How I wish that Steve Kompela will notice that and used him in that position.

Pitso never believe in this boy, he relegated him to the bench and to the stand for no apparent reason, just as he did with Clayton Daniels, Wome and Doctor Mampuru. He always have hidden agendas against certain players but one day it will come back to bite him.

I differ with sentiments expressed here.mabaso is a solid defender who has vast energy because of his age and stamina but the basic of the final ball solely lacks in short he fights for the ball and get it and runs at pace but when he has to give to a team mate his passes are not desirable.once he gets this done he will be a good player.

Too mnay loanees for Maritzburg nited and it's worrying since there is no certainity that all these players will be at Maritzbug United in the 2015/2016 season. This means there will be no continuity for the team.
