Bidvest Wits coach Hunt confirms Sheppard and Botes signing

Posted: 11 July 2014 Time: 11:32

Bidvest Wits coach Gavin Hunt has confirmed the signing of former Maritzburg United midfielder Dillon Sheppard and ex-Platinum Stars striker Henrico Botes.

The veteran pair were free agents after being released by United and Dikwena respectively at the end of last season.

“We are building the team again, we have signed Henrico Botes and Sheppard,” Hunt tells

“Sheppard is a great player who is versatile and can play two or three positions.”

Both players are currently on camp with Wits at Stellenbosch and will return with the team to Johannesburg on Sunday.

The Clever Boys have already signed Buhle Mkhwanazi, Christopher Katongo, Toriq Losper, Vincent Pule and Giorgi Nergadze in the off-season.

Message to Mkwanazi# transfer from Tuks to Wits

Joffe and Ferreira must have promised this young man the Club's(Wits) captaincy...........once Vilakazi departs en route Europe! should Sbu leave Jan.2015 transfer then this boy will surely deputise him.

Mkhwanazi.....I thought you were a Buccaneer by birth poy, that u had it within you to dawn the world's famous black and white, that you had a heart of a Midnite Lion of Judah, that u had the blood of King of Kings and Lord of Lords but to my surprise u are just a midday cat of kwaggafontein who ran away from the responsibility and the pressure that comes with being a member of our large-scale football project!!!!!!!
