Buhle Mkhwanazi leaving University of Pretoria

Posted: 9 July 2014 Time: 13:17

Buhle Mkhwanazi is set to leave University of Pretoria before the end of the week.

The 24-year-old defender has seen his stock rise in recent months following some stellar performances for both club and country, including being named in the CHAN Team of the Tournament in February.

AmaTuks coach Steve Barker has previously told KickOff.com that they will not sell their star player, who still has a contract until 2016.

But with both Orlando Pirates and Bidvest Wits seemingly intent on strengthening their defence by acquiring the former Mamelodi Sundowns player, Mkhwanazi looks to be on his way out.

The Buccaneers are looking for a long-term replacement for veteran defenders Siyabonga Sangweni and Lucky Lekgwathi, while Wits have a gaping hole in the back following Matthew Booth’s retirement.

The decision now rests with AmaTuks as to which bid they will accept.

Since Wits signed Thulani Hlatshwayo , I don't see Mkhwanazi signing for Wits .Since Lekgwathi he's aging and Sangweni as well aging and he hasn't sign a contract with Pirates .Mkwanazi will sign for Pirates Ryan Cooper
