Abel Mabaso set for Maritzburg United move

Posted: 26 June 2014 Time: 11:27

Abel Mabaso looks set to move to Maritzburg United as part of the deal that saw Mario Booysen and Rheece Evans join Mamelodi Sundowns.

Despite interest from Ajax Cape Town, Mabaso is set to join Maritzburg as a make-weight in the deal that saw Booysen and Evans join the Brazilians on five-year contracts.

READ: Sundowns sign Booysen, Evans

According to a source close to the Chloorkop-based side, Sundowns and United have agreed on the transfer and it is only left for Mabaso to agree financial terms with the Team of Choice.

"Both Booysen and Evans have moved to Sundowns in a swap deal with one of the players plus cash," says the source.

Maritzburg boss Farouk Kadodia has confirmed his side's interest in the defender, who spent last season on loan at Mpumalanga Black Aces.

Was Mabaso consulted in the whole transfer issue? If not he must ask Majoro how it is done. Players need to be treated with respect. The guy was enjoying himself at Aces. Why didn't they sell him to Aces rather than this nonsense swap deal. Players should be involved when deals like this are concluded.

How in hell do you swap Mabaso with Booysen a player who lacks discipline? Booysen has a temper problem surely with him in every match you expect an unnecessary yellow card or two.

Ha vaye mabaso because he's good in running and if you look at assist numbers comparable with moon and evans you will see that his energy doesn't translate to concrete match winning game from his part.good luck.

Mayhem TP Find out first  and then start bitching later on. He was consulted and and not disrespected. Chill.

mountainking So hard to remember Mabaso's impressive run at Sundowns. All I know is that he was part of the Neskeens squad that was huffing and puffing. So his match-winning abilities aside. Moon has provided. Even Mr 3 Points is kidnapping himself in the bench. Mashaba is a gem. Rama. Good luck for the young lad Mabaso tho. He is a good player but we will not collapse without him. Maritzburg needs him more than we do.

Bazuka metalwolf Mayhem TP Signing papers is another story boys. He must take all the time he needs with his manager, lawyers and everyone. Its between Martzburg and Mabaso.

Bazuka metalwolf Mayhem TP Yes he does. What makes you to think negatively as if you know something when you dont? Sit down and wait for him to tell you he is unhappy. If he doesnt say so, let us all assume he is happy. Phela that is an old man, we can't babysit Mabaso magenge.

he's a disciplined player and plays according to instructions the way i see him, so i think a coach at maritzburg wouldnt mind to have such a player.
