Former Golden Arrows defender Billy Mwanza has signed an eight-month contract with First Division Coastal Stream side African Warriors.

Speaking to KickOff.com before his departure from Lusaka International Airport for South Africa, Mwanza, who was in the company of his wife, said the deal to join Warriors was concluded last week.

Mwanza, who was last week dropped from the Zambia squad that beat Togo 1-0 in the joint 2010 World\Africa Cup of Nations qualifier, said he wants to help Warriors win promotion to the PSL next season.

Without disclosing further details about the contract, the steely defender said that Warriors had offered him better conditions than he had been receiving at Arrows where he has played for the past three years.

Mwanza will become the second Zambian in the team when he joins lanky defender Joseph Bwalya formerly of Free State Stars.
