Asavela Mbekile business manager Tim Sukazi says his client’s move to Mamelodi Sundowns was not motivated by money.
The midfielder penned a four-year deal today after just one season with Moroka Swallows.
The 27-year-old now faces tough competition from the likes of Hlompho Kekana, Dove Wome and Esrom Nyandoro, but Sukazi says Mbekile is desperate to achieve success.
“An outstanding player will always cherish the opportunity to test his ability against the best,” Sukazi tells KickOff.com. “This is what a move to Sundowns will offer Mbekile after an outstanding first season at Swallows.
“This move will not only test his capabilities at club level, but also on the continent as Sundowns will be playing in the CAF Champions League.
“Yes, of course there are financial rewards for such a move, but it was not our primary consideration. If you are wise enough and aware of the season that just ended, you will fully agree that this is a good move for both the player and the club.”
