Asavela Mbekile signs for Mamelodi Sundowns from Moroka Swallows

Posted: 9 June 2014 Time: 16:45

Mamelodi Sundowns have completed the signing of defensive midfielder Asavela Mbekile from Moroka Swallows.

The 27-year-old has put pen to paper on a four-year deal after just one season with the Dube Birds.

Mbekile, who picked up a chart-topping 15 yellow cards last season, had joined Swallows from Chippa United.

“In order for me to be the best I have to hold my own against the best and I believe that’s what I’m doing by joining Sundowns. I will become a better player here at Sundowns,” he tells Sundowns’ website.

Pitso has a good eye for talent. This guy is a serious power house midfielder, he was never really dominated last season, just let down by Mkhulu Tsutsulupa. Mbekile has potential to be their best signing of the season

No story here,I thought Pitso is done signing average Palookas but it looks like I'm wrong, how can u sign an mature when u have champions league waiting for you, eish ama copy cats,Pirates had a good plan going to Africa including restricting the number of foreigners on our line up...and we relegated all the minnows to the reserve team, when you go to Lubumbashi you must have all your magazines fully loaded..
