Amid rumours of a Barcelona exit for Cesc Fabregas, Chelsea boss Jose Mourinho has publicly expressed his interest in the Spanish midfielder.

Mourinho recently spoke out about a possible Chelsea move for Fabregas at a Yahoo event, but also revealed that a move before the World Cup kicks off is unlikely.

“I’m interested to look at his situation,” revealed Mourinho.

"I think he is eager to leave Barcelona and very motivated by the idea of returning to England. I think that is pretty clear,” added the former Real Madrid manager.

"After that, whether he signs for us or someone else is not a question for today, tomorrow or before the World Cup.

"We are interested to see how the situation evolves,” said ‘The Special One’.

Despite having a buy-back clause with Barcelona, Wenger seems unlikely to bring his former captain back to The Emirates.

However, rivals Manchester United have also been linked to the former Arsenal midfielder, and it remains to be seen where the 27-year-old will end up after the World Cup in Brazil.
