AmaZulu coach Craig Rosslee will make a decision on whether Lucky Nguzana is in next season's plans during pre-season training.
The former Mamelodi Sundowns striker signed a rolling contract with club back in March, and the Usuthu coach will assess the situation from 23rd of this month.
The 23-year-old scored two goals last season and was told by Rosslee to trim some weight and work on his fitness after starting just two matches against his former club Golden Arrows and Kaizer Chiefs.
"Nguzana's situation will be known when we resume pre-season training. The coach will tell us which players he needs and which are not needed and also what department we will shore up," communications manager Philane Mabaso tells KickOff.com.
"The coach introduced a new system where players' futures will be decided when he comes back [from holiday] and from then on we will send a list of players that will stay and those that will not stay.
"We don't want to lose and sign players and later it ends up that we made a mistake by signing and losing the player. We will just wait and see what pans out in that regard."
Usuthu have already made plans for next season by signing central defender Sadate Ouro Akoriko from Free State Stars and Namibian international striker Bornwell Mwape, who has signed a three-year deal.
Rosslee will lose one of his best centre-backs and the club's player of the season, Thamsanqa Teyise, to SuperSport United after he signed a pre-contract agreement halfway through last season.
