Ajax-Wits player deal collapses

Ajax Cape Town have failed to seal a triple player exchange deal with Bidvest Wits that would have seen Ryan Chapman join the Urban Warriors.
The proposed deal deal would have resulted in Chapman, Robin Ngalande Jr and Bhongolwethu Jayiya moving to Ajax in exchange for Toriq Losper, Abbubaker Mobara and Tashreeq Morris.
Ajax coach Roger De Sa, who has not hidden his desire to lure Chapman from the Clever Boys’ camp, tells KickOff.com that discussions between the two clubs over the player exchange deal failed to materialise.
De Sa, who worked with both Chapman and Jayiya during his stint as coach of the club, was hoping to use his links with his former paymasters to seal the deal.
“The proposal was discussed from last month. We were looking at ways in which we can bring the three players on board. The deal did not materialise, unfortunately,” says De Sa.
“I will not go into the details of the discussions but we decided against the deal for a few reasons,” he adds.
“We will look at the options we have when the players return for training.”
Since moving to the Urban Warriors camp, De Sa has on numerous occasions expressed his desire to work with Chapman.
However, he has previously suggested to this website that the Wits player is beyond the financial reach of the Urban Warriors.
