Polokwane City have taken a massive step towards Absa Premiership safety after a 1-0 win against Black Leopards in a promotion play-off match at the Old Peter Mokaba Stadium on Wednesday night.

Vukile Mngqibisa proved to be the hero for Boebie Solomons’ men, netting a header on the half-hour mark for the three crucial points.

In a game of very few clear-cut chances, Poleng Tloane came closest to second in the dying stages when his volley skidded inches wide.

Polokwane City move to the top of the standings with four points after two matches, followed by Leopards on three and Milano United on one.

Black Leopards: Mokhasi, Munyai, Mabotja, Munganga, Nyirenda, Abubakkar, Manaka, Sibeko, Ntshangase, Matlakala, Amidu

Polokwane City: Marumo, Molekwane, Lichaba, Mngqibisa, Tshilo, Molala, Tloane, Monyana, Maluleke, Mdluli, Kanyenda

Awu what anti football tactics from polokwane city from the first second till the last, very disappointing, I can't even call that rubbish football mxm! God I hope this negative chaos of a club gets molested by milano in Limpopo and in cape Town later on and leopards get revenge in the reverse fixture. I'm still frustrated at the antics polokwane city applied and here I was thinking I'll be seeing end to end stuff since city had it all to do, but one mistake by leopards city pounced and that was it! Awu how sad very negative and the coach babbled on about not having strikers to go at leopards, what bull! Like Papic said ' we'll its hard to play against such teams and he's right cause even the most attacking sides fails against such rubbish play, Bayern Munich, Barcelona, Liverpool and at times man city have all came unstuck against this rubbish play. Hope leopards somehow came out triumph or milano but please not polokwane city, they suck! Sies! Awe! Once and always bucs.

Polokwane City's football is boring. It shows why they are in the playoffs. They were lucky to score that goal. I hope they get a draw against Milano.

I didn't watch this match. I am a propont of good football hence all my teams play good football: Pirates, Barcelona, and Arsenal but if Polokwane didn't score an offside or get illegitimate penalties a la Zebras then I'm happy for them.
