AmaZulu skipper and goalkeeper Tapuwa Kapini is now doing light training as he looks to recover from a neck injury that kept him out of action for the last stages of the 2013/14 season.
Kapini – who sustained the injury during a match against Mamelodi Sundowns – tells KickOff.com that he is now training by himself and is confident he will be fit and ready for action before the start of the new season.
“I went to see the doctor for a review and he has cleared me to start training,” Kapini tells KickOff.com.
“I am taking it one step at a time because I do not want to put myself under any pressure. What has been encouraging is the fact that I am not feeling any pain.
“I will have to work hard at regaining my fitness but this should not be a problem,” adds Kapini, who recently extended his contract with Usuthu by an additional year.
With over 150 League appearances in the South African topflight, Kapini says his priority for next season is to assist AmaZului win silverware as well as reclaiming his place in the Zimbabwe national team.
