Kaizer Chiefs rookie Lorenzo Gordinho feels the club gave it their all in a competitive 2013/14 season.
Amakhosi were unable to win any trophies, finishing two points behind Mamelodi Sundowns in the race for Premiership honours, while they reached the semi-finals of the Nedbank Cup, Telkom Knockout and MTN8.
The Glamour Boys, double winners the season before, were also engaged in continental competition. However, they failed to impress in the CAF Champions League and Confederation Cup respectively.
Gordinho told Chiefs' website: "I thought the season in general was greatly contested. There was never a favourite team to win the League until the last few round of games which shows how competitive it was. The League ended with us breathing heavily on the neck of the champions."
The young defender, who made five first-team appearances, added: "I thought we did our best to finish in second position. We should be proud even though we wished to give our supporters something to show for the support they have given the team throughout the year. We have no regrets knowing we gave it our all to win every game we played."
