Milano United and Polokwane City in goalless draw

Posted: 14 May 2014 Time: 21:31

The first promotion play-off match between Milano United and Polokwane City ended in a goalless draw at Athlone Stadium on Wednesday night.

In the first match of the play-offs - between the 15th-placed PSL side and second and third from the National First Division - Polokwane started the stronger of the two sides and had a few great chances early on.

They almost got the opener after nine minutes when the home side failed to deal with a free-kick. An initial shot was cleared off the line, before Vukile Mngqibisa’s follow-up hit the woodwork.

The visitors had another goal-bound shot from Esau Kanyenda cleared off the line, before Wensten van der Linde pulled off a fine save to deny the Malawian from range.

Puleng Tlolane and Thapelo Tshilo had great chances just before the break, but were unable to convert.

Milano were better after the break, but it was Polokwane who came closest to breaking the deadlock in time added-on when Galabgwe Moyana’s free-kick hit the up-right.

Polokwane city have only themselves to blame leaving Cape town empty handed cause they had all the chances to score at least 2 goals but dreadful finishing let them down. Milano united are one lucky club not to have conceded 2 goals at least, especially in that first half. How come we are so wasteful in south African football i really don't know, failing to convert when it looks impossible to miss? Wow! No wonder bafana are ranked 12th or so on the continent who can score us goals. Not to forget that our top goalscorer won the Golden Boot with a lousy ridiculously low pathetic 10 goals, eish its very embarrassing. Bucs couldn't even score 30 goals this whole season Once and always bucs. Parker win his award without scoring since February, damn! Our strikers couldn't even manage 10 goals between them, awe! Zebras don't even know the feeling of playing in a final this season yet small wits are in it, jeez! Pathetic stats. Once and always bucs.

goldnation  we shall see that over the weekend, don't be so sure about this. You seem to forget that cosmos could've easily have moered leopards but again wastefulness was their downfall. Awe! Once and always bucs.

Mphela scored 5 goals dis season, even though he didn't played more dan 10 games unlike rats strikers and all their players. No player exceeded 5 goals in Orlando. Ohhhh!!! Wat a huge disgrace in Orlando. Sis maan!!!

Plk city is a disgrace to the ppl of limpopo it should just be relegated. Black leopard will be a far much better representative of the beautiful province. How can they miss so many chances? No wonder it finished where it did. The same team that beat Sundowns and Pirates is falling to humiliate a NFD team. Mxm.

Beating the Mighty Bucs is a curse,  it was Bay United who beat Pirates and got relegated, Santos also got relegated after beating the only team with a STAR and now it's Polokwane City they will be relegated as well.

Black Leopards are coming back as we are guaranteed 6 points from them.
