Bidvest Wits coach Gavin Hunt has praised his young midfielder Phumlani Ntshangase and says he is one for the future to be selected for the national team.
The 19-year-old was promoted from the juniors to the first team during the transfer window and has been in the team since then. On his debut against AmaZulu he was chosen as the man of the match and has never looked back since.
The youngster has since relegated old horse Tinashe Nengomasha to the bench or even to the stands and also held his own against Amakhosi and kept Katsande and company at bay.
"The players have been magnificent this season and have always played their socks off. Against Kaizer Chiefs, Faty Papy and Phumlani Ntshangase were magnificent for us and I cannot ask for more," Hunt says.
"Anybody can see that Phumalani [Ntshangase] is a good player, he is great and a fantastic player. For me he is one of the future for South Africa and this is the kind of players that we should be picking [in the national team]."
Wits have produced players like Patrick Phungwayo, Sifiso Myeni and Tefu Mashamaite in the past and Ntshangase might just be the next.
