Mpumalanga Black Aces midfielder Sandile Zuke is backing his coach Clive Barker to come up with a plan to trump Mamelodi Sundowns when the sides clash tonight at Loftus Stadium.
Both teams are in form, with Aces recently recording victories over champions Kaizer Chiefs and Orlando Pirates, while Sundowns claimed the summit with seven straight wins in the League prior to their Nedbank Cup exit at the weekend.
“There’s no doubting that coach Clive is a big role player in this team,” Zuke tells KickOff.com. “He’s a starring or the neck of the team if I may say.
“He’s a strong character and he’s made us believe in ourselves. He allows expressing ourselves without feeling any pressure to do so and that has been most beneficial to the club.
“We know that once again he will come up with another plan on how we take this game.”
The former Kaizer Chiefs man has been an influential member in Aces' engine room this season, making 15 starts and three substitute appearances.
“I think I’ve been given the opportunity to play and I’m happy with the amount of game-time I’ve received,” he says.
“I’ve been working hard continuously and I will continue to do so. And I’m happy with what I’ve contributed to the club thus far.”
In team news for this evening, AmaZayoni are without Method Mwanjale, Abel Mabaso and Themba Zwane due to the terms of their loan agreement from Downs, while Miguel Timm and Mbulelo Mabizela are suspended.
