Mamelodi Sundowns v Polokwane City

Posted: 15 March 2014 Time: 20:01

Mamelodi Sundowns beat Polokwane City 1-0 in a League match at Loftus Stadium thanks to a goal from Teko Modise.

In the 5th minute Kabelo Lichaba somehow managed to direct a powerful cross from Mokoena over Modiri Marumo’s crossbar from point blank range, he should have done better.

Sundowns were making all the early running and broke the deadlock in the 17th minute through Modise.

Surprise Moriri’s initial effort was cleared off the line by Mbhele but Modise was on hand to stab home the rebound, 1-0.

Hlompho Kekana hit one of his thunderbolts on the stroke of half-time but Marumo was well positioned to keep out the powerful effort.

Sundowns goalkeeper Wayne Sandilands was finally called into action five minutes into the second half but was hardly tested as he easily gathered Thabo Rakhale’s tame effort.

To their credit, the visitors looked more threating as the half grew on, pushing Downs deep into their own half on occasion.

Phulane Tlolane went close to levelling matters in the 71st minute when he lost his marker before directing a header at goal but Sandilands had his near post covered to make the save..

Sundowns looked content to sit back in the final exchanges and were nearly punished in stoppage time.

Rakhale’s curling free-kick from just outside the area was on target but Sandilands was again up to the task.

Mokoena was complaining about the same hip that kept him out for a season.

Dear Pitso Mosimane

Richard Heineken scored a hat trick. In my perspective you are a bad coach. With Sundowns' resources, this team can win leagues season in and out.

All players you kicked out are star performers where they went. Please resign if Motsepe doesn't fire you. You are the chancer sir. I suspect you lose games by choice.

Fantastics Rhino  Love and Peace are not exclusive to your team wena nkomo. You abuse these words by injecting them on every crap you say. Im starting to doubt if you know what love is, peace neither. Your statements dont seem to be evangelizing spreading love, instead of bring peace, they disturb the peace. Pitso will not be fired even if sundowns ends the season without a silverware.

Thousandaire Henyekane scoring a hat trick makes pitso a bad coach overnight? Uyanya wena. Motsepe wont fire him, and he wont resign, so take this stupid letter of yours and shove it up your asshole.

Dear Thousandaire

Richard Heyekane was at Downs for years, he has never scored a hat trick at Downs. The "chancer" you are talking about took us out of relagation last year, and currently we are sitting on number 2. The very same "chancer" just got us another 3 points tonight.

Scoring a hat trick doesn't mean you deserve to be at Downs, we need more from Heyekane. The number of goals he'll finish the season with will give a better picture than just 1 hat trick.

Lets not be negetive all the time, we are progressing under Pitso, lets give him the credit he deserves.

Hlompho Kekana is slowly accumulating unnecessary yellow cards because of his lack of discipline. We don't need excuses from their loud mouth coach when we meet them.
