Former Jomo Cosmos defender-cum-midfield workhorse Sammy Magalefa has recovered from a knee operation that was performed earlier this year and reports are that Santos have immediately shown interest in his services.
Magalefa underwent an operation in April after having last played just before the Christmas break when he started complaining about pain in his knee.
“There is strong interest for Sammy’s services. At this stage we are considering our options and obviously, we are looking at getting him a deal that will make him happy,” says Ryan Hartslief, Magalefa’s manager.
“Santos has shown interest in getting the player down to Cape Town,” Hartslief adds.
Magalefa did not play for Cosmos during the second half of last season and when Ezenkosi were relegated his contract, which expired in June, was not renewed.
Magalefa had played for Cosmos also had a brief spell with Aris FC in Greece before returning to Jomo Sono’s outfit.
With 10 years PSL experience, having also played for Bidvest Wits and SuperSport United, the 30-year-old Magalefa will certainly bring experience to the youthful Santos if he links up with them.
