Orlando Pirates monitor Nyauza head injury

Posted: 5 March 2014 Time: 09:02

Ntsikelelo Nyauza’s head injury may be healing but Orlando Pirates say the player will continue to wear his protective cap for the next few matches to prevent further damage.

Nyauza sustained the knock during his club's 1–0 win over Mamelodi Sundowns, and consequently wore head gear in the 2-0 defeat of Free State Stars.

“Nyauza has stitches on his head but the wounds are healing,” Bucs spokesman Mickey Modisane tells

“He will have to continue protecting his head during the matches so that we do not disturb the healing process.

“But he is fine now. Our medical team just wants to make sure that the wounds on his head completely close up,” Modisane adds.

Nyauza, a former Platinum Stars man, has put in some decent performances in the heart of the Pirates defence in the absence of injured stars Siyabonga Sangweni and Rooi Mahamutsa.

This Lekgwathi look-alike player is good, really he brings stability in our defence and he's not shy to attack too.

what a player, we must thank RDS for signing him. RDS is a good coach and he knows what he is doing. I wish he could come back and play a 442 formation, that's all we need.

AlQaeda  What a stupid comment/question..... Guess petr cech is a lock also, maybe Tshepo Bulu was a lock also or maybe even Mashamaite cause they all wore protective gear at some point. Eish some people really fail to think when commenting.
