Bafana Bafana midfielder Jali excited to be back for the Brazil friendly

Posted: 3 March 2014 Time: 15:06

Bafana Bafana ace Andile Jali is pleased to be back in the country ahead of Wednesday's friendly with Brazil at Soccer City.

Jali plies his club football in Belgium following his January move to KV Oostende from Orlando Pirates.

"It feels good to be back, and it will be exciting to play against Brazil as it will be my first time," Jali said.

"We will fight for a win even though it is going to be a difficult match. As players, we don’t have to be motivated because just being in the squad to play Brazil is enough motivation.

"We did well against Spain because we were playing as a team and if we continue with the same mentality we will do well again."

Thabo Nthethe, who could captain the team in Itumeleng Khune's injury-enforced absence, is likewise excited to be facing the likes of Barcelona superstar Neymar.

"Every player is excited to play Brazil and we are all hoping to be in the starting line-up for such a big occasion," he said.

"All the players who are here know how Brazil plays, and I believe we have all been studying their moves as to how we can counter them. In fact I even have a picture in my mind of how to face a world-class player like Neymar, but we all know it will not be easy. We have done some homework on them and we know what to expect.

"Should I be captain on the night, it will be another exciting chapter in my career. We urge the supporters to come in numbers as it is very motivating to play in front of big crowds because it gives us that extra boost. We hope not to disappoint them, but aim for a win to put some smiles on their faces," concluded the Mamelodi Sundowns centre-back.

Can we remind Pirates fans that Andile Jali is not a Pirates player any more,,,He has moved on to the better things..,,So please stop bragging about another club's player..

You now have Lehlohonolo "Salt & Pepper" Masalesa to brag about.

So vele Gordon has told this punk he'll captain the team? Otherwise why would he say such thing?

in fact who is the voice captain of this National team?

I agree with you Zebra. He's no longer ours. We may love him but we must do so as a Bafana player.

Chiefs loves Shabba, Shabba loves Chiefs , he must retire from the National team to prolong his club career.

Senzo "Kelly" Meyiwa, now it's your chance to prove you belong. Khune gave you a chance, we need to rest our players (  for CAF).

Oompie  Give us a left footed winger who is capable of replacing Shabba in the Bafana team..Please don't tell us about Klate, he does not even feature regularly in his team anymore.
