Orlando Pirates winger Masuku reveals attitude adjustment

Posted: 3 March 2014 Time: 14:36

Orlando Pirates winger Khethokwakhe Masuku says he is benefitting this season from an attitude adjustment.

Masuku, who joined Pirates from Black Leopards last term, has impressed of late, notably scoring the winner in a man-of-the-match display against title rivals Mamelodi Sundowns on 25 February.

“I learnt a good lesson at Pirates,” Masuku told his club's official website. “You can have all the skills in the world and be a great player, but here at Pirates you have to have a lot more than that to survive. It is a big team so, you have to have a big heart.

“I know myself, I know what I can do on the field. I had to change something in me. I changed my attitude to start off with. I could not sit in the corner and feel sorry for myself because I was not playing. I waited for my chance and I think I have done well so far.

“I don’t pay attention to criticism. Everything I do on the field is to help the team. So, if it didn’t work, I tell myself I should not get worried but try harder next time.

“That has helped me to develop this tough skin I have now. I do not take things personally anymore. I told myself to be bold and not let things get to me. If I play I do my best and I make sure I am happy with my game."

True that my boi! If you have a good game today and tomorrow you are on the bench you don't storm into your coach's office and demand for answers! You respect the coach's decision and work harder at training and SHOW POSSITIVE ATTITUDE!!

Positive contribution is done at TRAINING, in the STANDS, on the BENCH, in the FIELD and even on the STREETS!

Soweto's finest....We call him Rings & Bearings ekasi.

This guy could dribbling the entire team back in the school tournaments days ..pity the PSL coaches do not approve of show boating..... I still believe Masuku can do better under a coach like Ted Demitru...

If you can stop show-boating wena Choose-Mayikhethela you can do better. Other coaches will bench you for that.

The Phefeni Boy®™ Mriyo (Myeni shud b benched)well, first of all,i am a pirates fan i know wat type of players qualifies to b our material. The 2nd thing is that current Pirates coaches dont realy know wat they r doing n i believe they dont really know how to use him.Its more of failures to manage big players.

"He comes to training with a great attitude and he never complains. He is a good teammate to other lads as well even while on the bench. He does sit on the stands, but he never loses what we want from him and I don't get any downbeat [vibes] out of that from him"

I hope Majoro is reading this article with his bad attitude & it seems he gonna have a very tricky season ahead of him,coz VV  doesn't entertain cry babies like him
