Masilela returns to training

Posted: 26 February 2014 Time: 10:43

Kaizer Chiefs have received a boost after left-back Tsepo Masilela returned to training following an adductor muscle injury.

Masilela has been out of action since pulling up in the 2-0 League win over Moroka Swallows on 31 January and various players have filled in at left-back in his stead, including Siboniso Gaxa, Lorenzo Gordinho and Simphiwe Mtsweni.

But Bafana Bafana international Masilela is back in the reckoning again, although it remains to be seen whether he will be fit enough to reclaim his place against Liga Muculmana in the CAF Champions League on Saturday.

Mtsweni, a Stars of Africa graduate who was signed by Chiefs after impressing during last year's Castle Superstars scouting programme, has started at left-back in the last three matches and could keep his place after impressing the technical team.

Mtsweni has already tasted CAF competition after making his debut for the club away to Black Africa in the last round of the Champions League.

What do you think? Should Masilela come back in or should Mtsweni be given a longer run in the team?

Mtsweni should continue with his duty, I'm impressed by him. Masilela should wait until he's fit. Mtsweni wont be long in PSL, he should play other stars somewhere in Europe. The boy is exceptionally good, watch this space not taking anything from Masilela

There is one thing I dont understand about South African players, just like this guy he is a pure talent but injury prone which played a major role in his U-TURN from Israel back to SA. this also goes to players like your Serelo's what it is that our boys are doing wrong when it comes to their fitness's.

I trust baxter will use him responsibly. we don't want to aggregate his injury and mtsweni has proven to be capable but having said that don't know what kinda punch our next caf opponents pack. IN SIR BAXTER WE TRUST.

Trinity88  I believe in this boy..I think it's time he gets the derby experience..He is ready...He is a great player...I think it will be more riskier to field Masilela because he is just from  an injury, we know he  is injury prone..we need to be careful how we use him.....I say Mtsweni khosi...

football lover  My point exactly....Mtsweni must continue...Chester must take all the time to recover fully and be match fit....There is still alot of football to be ahead..We have a busy schedule..we cannot risk Masilela.

Mtsweni now cemented his spot as understudy to Masilela. We're  covered in that position so they can rotate.
